pogmahone: I think you may be confusing Flamingo renders for Rhino Flatshade renders. Rhino renders look very flat, and can be rendered with full nurbs wireframes, or not.. Flamingo renders, well, to say the least, are beautiful. Flamingo is intended for product/advertising/architectural/CAD/Engineering renders. Flamingo is almost as slow as Bryce, but has an incredible Raytacing & texture system.. Also, Flamingo is actually Accustudio, just packaged a little different, but the main program is Accustudio..

Go here and download HDRShop, and read the directions closely, then search the forums here for HDRI, in particular, the Carrara, Rhino, C4D, and Max forums, you will find lots of help on HDR maos, and there are a ton on the web for download..Thread: Why didn't anyone tell me that Rhino could do this??? | Forum: Bryce
Nope, same as in an Enzo or Mclaren, very close to the feet, cab forward design.. It is totally possible, in fact y@ is having one of his cars actually built, the Garra, check it out. You can search for it in the Rhino forum if it sounds interesting.

Now you need to start working on a Sphere for us to download.. Do you think you could model one by tonight? lol.. I personally thought the Cube download was hilarious, but then I like that kind of humor..

Thanks guys! I appreciate the help..I'm going to play around with what you guys have shown me, I will post my progress, now to go export my model...Thanks a lot.. That Dosch stuff looks very cool, I just can shell out the $$ right now, but it looks worthy of the price.. kaom
Thread: WIP: My House | Forum: Carrara
Very nice work! I just started designing a house in Rhino, I plan on rendering and texturing in Carrara.. This is looking great.. Architools sounds pretty cool, when does it come out? It seems there some excellent plugin for Carrara coming out recenetly, it's good to see that, it means the program is alove, I love it...
Thread: What program to use for modeling after using only Bryce? | Forum: Bryce
If you don't want to spend money, then Wings is great.. If you have cash to spend, Rhino is the way to go.. None of it is easy, it all takes reading the manuals and working through tutorials and practice.. It all depends on what you are out to accompolish, and your budget... It ranges from free to the unaffordable....

Nice, what did model this with, the (W) word, or in Bryce? And yes Drac, the interiors of cars are hell, I've spent 3 months on the interior of the car I'm designing now in Rhino... Interiors are a nightmare to make convincing... We need hydrogen cars, now!

Your not supposed to copy a program after it's been installed in windows.. You may copy everything in the programs folder in program files, but there are certain .dll's and other files that get installed to specific places in windows.. That really doesn't work very well...You really need to uninstall it all, and reinstall from the CD.. Otherwise you're going to run into wierd problems..
Thread: OT: An Offer to Share. . . A Little Maya Yes. . .A Little Maya No? | Forum: Bryce
Very nice work nuski. Impressive as hell. I agree with everything stated above.. The artist does matter much more than the brush.. I do admit loyalty to software, I have been using Rhino for 3 years and have no plans on ever using another major modeler..Even Maya professionals use Rhino a lot for certain modeling jobs that Maya isn't adept at.. Rhino is one of the best modelers at any price.. Fact! As for Bryce, even top pros use it at times for specific things that it excels at.. No software should be discounted, because every program has things that it does very well, even if it's just one..Every thing you learn in every program you use will become a page of your knowledge and understanding.. The kind of quality and imagry we are capable of producing at home on inexpensive computers, and commercial software would of cost millions 15 years ago..... We have some seriously cool toys at out disposal........
Thread: Question about DV rendering IN C3??? | Forum: Carrara
Thanks guys, I think numbered stills is the way to go, definately the highest quality output., but I'm still confused as to why Carrara won't render to Microsoft DV AVI. I thought it use to do this, I swear I remember it.. thanks, kaom
Thread: Question about DV rendering IN C3??? | Forum: Carrara
Hmmm... My problem is, When you work with DV format AVI's, Premiere likes to deal only with those files, as far as importing goes, if I import a Quicktime file into a DV project, Premiere punches me in the face and I get to restart...I also have the Mainconcept DV codec installed, but it doeasn't show up in Carrara either.. Numbered stills are my only hope for now, but they will work fine, I'm just trying to do it the hard way as usual.. he-heh.. Thanks guys, kaom

If I could afford a new loaded Powerbook, I'd buy one. Until they have a version of Rhinoceros for Mac, I will have to live in a PC world.. For video work, a Mac would definately be nice. I used to work on a Mac at my last job, for some things it was great, for some things it was hell. Personally, if I had the choice, I'd own both....
