N1 into Cape Town

About 7am on the morning drive into Cape Town (Kaapstad) passed the Sable Road (Sableweg) offramp. I wonder how many of the drivers actaully see Table Mountain looming before them?

Hmm, this is a wonderful challenge! I have been taking plenty of shots this week with various ideas - very few have even come close.

Studio work? Yep, as was the previous one of the pencil and mouse.

I am seriously honoured. I have had a virus munch my PC, been away for the weekend and today is my son’s 10th birthday!
Life has been a bit ... different.

My first for the month - a late start - no excuses other than a four-lettered word: w-o-r-k.

I have just had the most fun in two hours by stepping up to the challenge!

This is a thermometer, the temperature somewhere between 20°C and 22°. I have a 500W lamp which provided the light source.

I was busy playing with a lit candle as a source for my third submission when I spotted this hanging on the wall. I was lucky that it just hung there on its points when I tried and moved the candle to suit. A tripod and remote trigger was a must!

I am happy with this as it was all done in camera - I just resized and did linear contrast in PS.

My third and last post. Meet Charlie, sitting on white mounting board and looking at a dragonfly in the candle light. It was a 13 sec. exposure at f/4 which I de-saturated in PS.

I was inspired by all the posts thus far and it is not even half way through the month!

I look forward to seeing more!
