2 images are needed. What I did and which worked very well was to remove the background and then save as then to mask only the portion that I needed and then save as. Then go to Objects in Vue then Create then alpha plane load image into color and then load the mask image into the alpha.

Hi all I surely do hope this one that I ordered from here will be 4.10. Yes Chuck, you do have the new version. Ill be looking forward to working with this program. Thread: Windows XP with Carrara Studio 1.1??? | Forum: Carrara
If you want the stability with NT I would go with Windows 2000 Pro. I went from 98SE to 2000 Pro and had it for about 4 months now and haven`t had one problem, very solid OS. I have an Intel P4 1.5 with 256mb of PC800 memory. I am running C1.1, Amapi 6, Bryce5 and Poser4. Go with a proven OS Windows 2000. Dave

Thread: Win. 2000 Pro and Carrara1.1 | Forum: Carrara
I havent had any problem what so ever with Win. 2000 with the SP2 installed. Very stable but Im using Fat 32 and not the NTFS files. Only this program does the hanging up of the cursor occur but only for a split of a second. But besides that Carrara works fine. Dave

Thread: First Crash Since the Patch | Forum: Carrara
Mine crashed on start up. Came up nil error, cancel or ok. I had to alt+ctrl and delete to get out of it. Then I started it up again and the menus were all over the place and I couldn`t get 2 of them to move so I had to delete the program and reinstall.
Thread: Carrara Free Stuff - Or the lack thereof | Forum: Carrara
I think the problem is that the upload is disabled and you must find a site and then link it to it. So this is why you guys aren`t seeing anything new. To much of a hassle. Dave

Thread: scaling shaders? | Forum: Carrara
I think what you are looking for by scaling down is global scaling. Check it out and try, this will change the size. Dave

Not bad Span. You know you gave me an idea about another way to make that instead of using spiral. Try this. Spline with a circle, sym. and bring the 2 ends togetger, this would make the cone then modifiers with twist. Wonder what the result would be? Dave

Thread: Clint, could you give us a project? | Forum: Carrara
I am not trying to cut anyone down here on their opinions but why is it necessary for someone to throw up a title to make a scene or object. That to me is competition. After all the members are putting up their images and comments are given, positive or negative, and anyone can post a question to the person who created the image as to how something was done. So, again why do you feel you need a title? Answer, competition Dave
