My favorite new feature has to be last one, New Splash Screen. My gawd, how long I have waited for that ;-)

Yes, it does take some time to import an obj file, but not long enough to read a book. Importing M3 took 158 seconds (approx. 2,5 minutes), so once you are finished with the import you should be just fine. If you are going to use it for morphtargets you probably won`t be needing the whole figure. However, I totally agree that they should improve the obj importer.

Maybe it is time to clarify some misunderstandings here. Twisted Symmetry is correct when he says that this is a loft, simply because in Max(Probably GMax to) the loft begins as what some programs calls a Sweep, extrusion of a spline along a path. In Max they have basically merged the two tools. When you have extruded the spline along its path (Sweep), you can go into subobject level and insert new and different splines and then you have a loft.... And to compare Rhino with Max is pointless, since the NURBS tools in Max are almost useless (They implemented them in version_? and haven`t touched them since). It is like comparing Rhino and Max on a Poly basis....

Through the help option in that menu you can find how to disable that function, if you want to. VH

Robo2010, when you hear that beep, you get a white border on the upper edge with a HardDrive icon, right? What happens if you click on that border? I get a tiny popup menu with an option to download the file.....

Just to add to the frustration, a little more info. Firefly and MatLab are licenced from Pixels Digital. In Pixels 4.x its known as Tempest and Shadermaker, currently available on OS9 and OSX. Always fun to know stuff like that.

"The best of it aspires to be original, the worst of it is plagarism of what has gone before; the best of it stimulates, the worst of it bores. No one will ever agree on what art is but the resulting conversation is often fascinating. " So right about that. I have to state that Im talking 3D in general. "High-end 3D", Purism vs. Postwork, for me that is just to stupid to bother with.

Just rockin the boat a little here. 3D is often compared with photo (as its closest relative). Imagine the Poser gallery (or any other 3D gallery) as a photo gallery, how many of you would then define your "photos" as art? Thinkin in those terms changes things a little bit for me when I browse any 3D art gallery. So what is it that makes it art? That it is purely made on a computer? It cant be that since... "I really don't see what the issues are... Since when did we start evaluating the validity of art, or the artform, by the tools we use?" What defines it then?

Hello. Im not shure where youre having trouble. But Ill try to answer the problems I have encountered . First you need to get a couple of utilities, one beeing MacConverter, the other beeing some File Converters(PC to Mac, 3ds,dxf,obj) . Think youll find them all in the Poser Utillities section here. If you are having trouble with unzipping the downloads try to drag and drop the file onto StuffIt Expander. Now to the files.Almost all the files are divided into two, a caracter/prop/hair/etc file and its rsr. file. take these two files and drag n drop them onto MacConverter, these go into runtime/libraries/etc. The obj.files go into runtime/geometries/etc. They need to be converted to Mac obj.files using the utility mentioned above. NB! Geometries are case sensitive so any error message from Poser that it cant open the obj.file usually depends on three things, the obj.file is a PC-file and needs to be converted or the Obj.file is in the wrong folder/place, and here the error message tells you where it should be.Or something is spelled wrong. Hope this was of any help to you. Good luck.
