OK, I know I'm too late to convince you to buy bryce, since you seem to have already decided to, but hey, I'll put in my two cents worth anyway (just to show what an annoying little git I am) Bryce was the first 3d modelling program that I could actually use, although as far as creating original shapes go, it's more pain than anything else. But some of the effects it can make, especially with water and skies....wow drools What I tend to do is imagine the picture I want, create the models etc. in other programs, make everything right in my mind, then export everything, and import it into bryce (too bad bryce can't import the textures/colours instead of you having to manually set them). Then I set the lighting, few touch up effects, and render. So bryce plays a very small role in my renderings, but it's one of the most important stages...I'll have to make a demo of a scene with/without bryce so you can see the difference (and yes, it is huge) Also, what surprises me, is if I have to create a texture for something, more often than not I'll start up bryce, create the texture with bryce's texture maker, then take a screenshot and copy/paste...I'd expect myself to be doing the reverse...oh well, best to make full use of the resources available 'eh? =)

I was pretty excited to see the animation forum here as well (okok I get excited over little things - no comments there please) When I play with effects I like to look through the forums to see if there is any posts that give me ideas, teach me how to do something more effectively etc. - and this is just what I wanted =) way to go!

Well a while ago there was word of a plugin for this coming, then everyone went quiet, waiting waiting. It still hasn't happened, but I'll be keeping my fingers crossed SewerRat

Yes, the only way I know is to either import multiple objects each at a slightly different position, or add in the animation with post-work, frame by frame If the camera doesn't need to move, you could probably render the bryce scene and use it as a background in poser, but then you won't have shadows etc. and the figure can't walk into the scene Pity bryce can't export something that can be imported into poser, kinda like a canoma scene, that would be almost as good as exporting a poser animation to bryce SewerRat

It's very good except maybe the blue is too light compared to the rest of the image, maybe make it casting light, which could give you harsher shadows as well as clearing up the image a bit My eyes just get drawn too much to the blue at the expense of the rest of the image And the skull-girl in the forground should be bracing herself or something if she's about to be hit by the demon things...she is in battle, but looks like she's just strolling through her feet need to be set farther apart, and her weight lower. She'd probably be facing the guy full-on, then if you want turn her body to the side But don't take my criticisms too harshly, you did ask for feedback. It's a brilliant image =) SewerRat
Thread: new pic...canoma/poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
ummm http://apocx.hypermart.net/art/maze.jpg that image I did a little while ago uses canoma, and lighting falling on the figures/scene. It would be impossible to do with a 2d photo, especially since I totally changed the lighting angles and directions, not to mention needing the figures shadows being cast onto the scene So canoma does have a use (albeit slightly limited) SewerRat

Thread: Sending Poser3 animations from my computer to a VCR... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I bought a scan converter, This basically plugs into where your monitor normally goes, it takes the signal, converts it to a usable VCR signal, and you can use the video-in line on the vcr to record. This won't do sound, but you can just plug a cord from the line-out to the video line-in to do that. I live in australia, so my choices on the converters was very limited. I got the cheapest I could find ($200 australian - I think that's about $150 US) and the quality is perfect for me. I wouldn't want to broadcast it, but for home vcr it's as good as any video tape. I believe you also have lower-quality television in america, so that should be even less of a problem for you. I got my scan converted from AITECH (www.aitech.com) - and the only complaint I have is that there isn't an easy bypass-on/off switch for it, so if I don't want it to be powered and working I have to manually unplug it. But for cheap hardware, that's something I can live with The other option is to get a video card that can output to vcr. The TNT2 card came recommended to me, but not having used that I can't comment, sorry. Hope I've been of some sort of help SewerRat
Thread: What now? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I think that's exactly why so many people here are starting poser-comics They take the props and characters they made, add a few scenes & a story, and suddenly it's no longer just some pictures, but a whole new world I want to do the same, but onto video. Unfortunately, when I sit down to make an animation my mind always goes blank SewerRat

you gotta rotate some of the trees so they don't look identical. I know it's a fine point, but for weird people like me it can really get to you grin other than that, great image =) The eyes and skin is especially nice SewerRat
Thread: Is there a program you can Put all frames from poser into and add Audio ect? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
floydd: why do you want to limit the animation to 30fps? If you get television quality on the computer it looks kinda ugly. You don't need to limit the framerate to capture to television either, whatever equiptment is capturing should do that (ok, I lie. I have to reduce my monitor refresh rate to 50hz...but that doesn't have anything to do with the animation file) or am I answering the wrong question? SewerRat

Wait, wait What if the shield is actually a really really intense magnetic field? If it was strong enough that would stop almost anything, & it wouldn't push her over! WOO! only one teeny tiny problem....that sort of energy would need her to have a personal nuclear generator...which would probably farther dissuade anyone from shooting anything remotely explosive at her. It would also probably leave her sterile. On the plus, any of those starwars battle droids going near here would have their circutry fried from the magnetismismwhatever SewerRat (did I learn nothing during physics except how to build a magnetic shield)
