Ah ok, Thanks for the info. Good to know I won't need to resend anything. heh - no point adding a redundant upload to an already overflowing inbox.

Well, I guess it's not just you, I also sent one in on the 18th and haven't seen hide nor hair of mine either. Didn't get the usual e-mail notice either, so I'm starting to get the impression the upload didn't make it.
But I figured I'd give it 3 days, If nothing happens by then I guess I'll try it again..

Thread: Crazy morph problem Zbrush vs Poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Either that or lightwave is adding them back in to keep the parts.. Simple solution is to select vertices with 0 faces and delete. that brings it back to 68498.
I have always gotten the same thing when bringing Poser models into either LW or Maya. There are always those vertices with 0 faces. and yep, I always just delete the scoundrels. For some reason, when Poser welds the body parts upon export, it connects the polygons but it leaves the additional set of points behind at the seam that was welded.

Thread: Crazy morph problem Zbrush vs Poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - I'm A: mystified at just why you think Poser cannot import it's own exports (when clearly it can)
Must admit I'm a bit confused as well. I just loaded v4 into Poser, applied a couple of magnets to deform a few things, exported thre deformed v4 to .obj and then imported that .obj right back into Poser. I then exported just one body part from v4 to obj, brought that into Lightwave, deformed some polygons and exported the deformed body part back to obj. I loaded that as a morph target and the new morph dial in Poser deformed the v4 body part as it should.
Aside from making sure the vertex order isn't rearranged (as is the case for all Poser models) I honestly don't see how v4 behaves any differently than any other Poser model I've workied on.
Maybe I'm missing something but I don't get it. - What exactly is it that can't be done?

Thread: rendering multiple stills with dynamic hair | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Are you saying the results are unrealistic because of the hair being in motion? The only thing I could recommend would be to keep the figure in each pose for a number of frames to give the dynamics a chance to stop moving and settle into place before continuing on to the next pose.
Like pose 1 at frame 1 - pose 1 at frame 30.
then pose 2 at frame 60 - pose 2 at frame 90
...pose 3 at frame 120 - pose 3 at frame 150 and so forth. you'd probably want to use spline breaks in there, changing to linear or constant during the static poses regions.

Thread: Ever considered buying Modo? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - I've heard good things about Modo -- including the fact that it works well with Lightwave. It's good to hear that Modo works well with Poser for content creation purposes, too.
Can someone tell me -- how is Modo with inorganic modeling? Is Modo a good app for modeling buildings, vehicles, machines, etc.? Thanks.
Haven't actually used Modo myself, but it should be great for any kind of modeling.. The developement team behind Modo are from the original creators of Lightwave. They left NewTek a few years back and started their own company 'Luxology" and Modo was born.

Thread: Creating figures for poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - correct me if i am wrong......modo is good for modeling but you cant make anything that moves or has morphs..correct?
All morphs really are, are seperate models based on the original unmorphed one.To create a morph (of a face for example) use the same head object you start with, move points to make the face smile, or open the mouth, whatever, and save each rearranged geometry as a new obj file.
You then load these into poser as morph targets. The "making it move" part is all done in poser itself.

Do you want it all one solid texture pattern or the ground to look seperate from the background?
For solid "procedural" texture, you can select "Background" in the Material Room and apply the Brick or whatever texture to the "BGColor" - it doesn't show up in the preview window but it will in the render. May take some work with scaling and such to get it like you want it.

Thread: Looking for a model | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yep - Poser 7 has one included in the package. I think I remember running across one here in the freestuff also. Try a search for one.

Thread: Looking for a scoop... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

Heh - Guess I'm feeling generous.. Honestly it wasn't a very complex model to make, I haven't turned it into a Poser prop or anything, just a straight .obj file with a texture template. But feel free to use it if it serves your purpose. - Import obj into Poser and save in a Props library...

Thread: Animating textures between keyframes? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Not sure if some codecs would cause probs but I have used DivX compressed avi's in them with no trouble.

When you save an avi file you get the option of no compression (Full Frames Uncompressed) or compression via whatever codecs you happen to have installed.

Caught this thread yesterday evening and thought it would make an interesting project. Decided to model one and am offering it as a freebee.
Morphable Poser prop to open or close, obj and pp2 included. I've only assigned basic diffuse colors to it but have included a UV template in the .zip.
Feel free to use for commercial or non-commercial projects.

Very true. Cloth objects colliding with two other objects that overlap will confound Poser every time.
