You missed the point. To have Poser auto load all the maps means they all have to have the same name with the 1001, 1002 etc. So, if you have 8 eye colors blue1001, green1001, red1001 etc. then you will need to have a map for body called blue1002, green1002 etc. Even if those body maps are the same texture with no changes. To have a computer program read your mind and figure out what you mean is not here yet. How do you get the other programs to load differently name files (and I don't mean the ending part of 1001)? If they use the ending part then what happens when you have tow files one called Blue 1002, and one called Green 1002? Especially if the file you just loaded was called Red1004?

Thread: Using UDIMs in Poser13 | Forum: Poser 13
So a problem with UDIM's is that they are made for a production environment, where multiple artist work on the same figure. To keep everything together they have the textures named default.1001, default.1002 etc. And that works great in their environment. However, if you have say 5 texture maps for the skin, eyes, hands etc. and they all have the same name with a different ending number what happens when you want to make the eyes Green instead of default Blue? Now you have a map that either has no matching group files for the body etc. or you make a duplicate of the other 4 and give them the new name of say Greeneyes.100x. And if you have 8 colors of eyes and 10 colors for fingernails that means you will have 400 texture files of which 382 of them have repeated textures but a different name just so you can load one texture file and have Poser automatically load the other 4. If your texture file is 4kx4k then the file size for each map will be ~ 50MB. Times 400 maps that works out to about 20GB, and that is only for 8 eye colors and 10 nail colors. Could you imagen downloading a 20GB file from the store?
So what behavior do you want Poser to do when it cannot find the matching UDIM files? Say nothing and you find out later that the figure is missing textures? Give a warning for every missing texture file? Which is why they setup Material collections so that you configure the model the way you want and then save it as a preset. uses much less space and allows an user to change just one thing like eye color and not worry that the rest of the model will be changed.

Thread: how to uppdate Poser 13 to newest Version? | Forum: Poser 13
Or another way to doit is to find the current Poser 13 folder (where the program is located) With Poser not running rename that folder to something else say Z895Poser. What that does is to remove Poser from the location where it was installed. Now run the installer and it will put in a new folder called Poser 13 and reset the desktop icons to the new install. Now you have the latest version and the last version on your computer. If for some reason you want to run the older version just open the Z895Poser folder and click the Poser.exe icon and the last version runs. You just can't run the two versions at the same time. I do this all the time and can run any of the versions I have for testing purposes to see what has changed or to test if the issues are fixed. And if you want you can delete the old Z985Poser folder by clicking and deleting. That way you don't have teh time spent un-installing the old version.

If our old Poser 2014 is still working then you can find the serial number by clicking the About Poser on the right most dropdown options.

Which is a good thing as Poser 13 will be able to use that with no problems and be several times faster than doing CPU only.

Thread: To install Poser 5. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
With Poser 5 you have to have the SR4 or else it won't work. SR4 removes the protection from Poser 5. If you have Poser 5 installed anywhere else on another machine it is really simple to go to that machine and copy the whole Poser folder onto a thumb drive and then move it to anywhere else. I have both Poser 5 and 6 on a thumb drive and can just plug it in and run the program form the folder with no problems.

And if you are really worried then you can shut down Poser so it is not running and then rename the folder that Poser is located in to something else. Then install the latest version and it will create a new folder with the Poser 13 name. I do this all the time with each of the Beta's that come out that way I can go back and see what has changed. I have something like 40 versions of Poser 13 on my computer and when I want to use an older version just close the current version find the folder for the older one and run the Poser.exe from that folder. This works because the program and the content are at two different locations and all the preferences are in third.

Slight update to what Y-Phil said is press Spacebar first then left click and move. The other way around does not do anything.

Thread: camera shortcuts? | Forum: Poser 13
There are no keyboard shortcuts. If you go to Edit-->General Preferences-->Interface there you will find all the possible things to assign a keyboard key to activate the command. There are no camera movements listed. You can select a particular camera, but not control the movement of that camera via the keyboard. You can use the mouse on either the Camera Control ball in that window OR use the mini ball in the upper right corner of the Poser window. Either of those will move the current camera view around. The most likely reason there are no keyboard shortcuts is that the Current View Camera and the camera selected via the Parameters control panel are not the same. You can have the View camera set to Top (looking down on the scene) and have the main camera selected in the parameters palette and the controls will move the Main Camera which you can watch from the Top View to put it where you want. So unless you select both the View camera and the Parameters for that camera then the movements you make with the dials won't be visible until you switch views

Thread: Ground Objects gets blurry at preview with distance. P 11 Rro | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well since the article basically says the same thing I did if you want the Mips maps to be higher than you crank the Preview up to 4096 so that the next Mip map will be 2048 and the third 1024 and the fourth 512. The Mip Maps are created on the fly by Poser and use the original texture map. Of course, the Original Map will have to be at least 4096x4096 or it won't make any difference. But you still run into the problem the further away the object is the less pixels it will have and the texture will still be compressed to fit. But making the Mip Map very large it may push the point where the image starts to blur. So that if an image was 1024 to start and it looks OK up close then if you use a 4096 image and it drops down to 2048 there will still be the compression line, however, it may not be as noticeable.

Thread: Why does IK not work properly | Forum: Poser 13
The IK target is only visible while you hold and move say the hip and pull the body away from the ground. As soon as you release the hip then the IK targets disappear. Which is why they are only slightly useful. In that you can see where the target is when moving but not always and if the foot/hand is still at the target location then it is hidden, and you never see it. It would be really nice to have the targets visible all the time, except that you would not see them if they were covered.

Thread: Why does IK not work properly | Forum: Poser 13
Correct. If you apply IK to the feet of a figure and then drag the hip up into the air you will see ghost footprints where the IK target is. The target is not a part of the figure and will be placed wherever you move the foot (or hand) to after IK is turned on. It would be really nice if you could move the target directly, however you have to use constraints to do about the same things.

Thread: Why does IK not work properly | Forum: Poser 13
Try it the other way around. That is apply IK FIRST then the pose. When IK is off the hand is not moved rather the shoulder and elbow move the hand. The problem is that the hand has a known location, and IK is trying to apply that location to the hand and the hand is no longer at that location because it was moved by the rest of the arm, so when IK is turned on the hand is trying to move to where it thinks it should be.

For the Key Frames I would change them to Linear since it is a controlled known movement. The problem with the default is that the Spline try's to go through all the points and that messes with the movements before and after you place a new key frame. I will post a couple of examples when I am at home and can get to them. Or you can search for posts that I have made, and you will see some of the issues.
above is a link to a video that shows how to use IK and constraints to try and do what you want. I had a thread or an answer to a thread about how to do IK. I will try and look that up later also. The thing is that I would put in a prop (ball) that you can be the constraint for the hand. Put the ball where the default hand is and constrain and turn on IK. Now slowly move the ball prop to where you want it to touch. Adjust the Wrist of the hand along the way to keep it in the proper real-life position. Do this by adjusting the constraint object and not the hand. This will be somewhere along the timeline, and you will be working backwards to bring the hand to the starting position either by moving the ball with the constraint on OR by dialing down the constraint till the hand is free at 0. Now when you dial the constraint up the hand reaches for it. ONCE you have the movement exactly the way you want it then you will bake in all the movements so that you can work without the IK.
IK is one of those things that you use all the time or none of the time. However, you can make small sections using IK to get the movement you want and then bake it in and turn off IK. Tha way you don't break the rule of IK On or Off both not both.

Thread: Why does IK not work properly | Forum: Poser 13
IK is one of those things that is best to use or not use. If you use it start from the beginning and move the hand which will move the rest of the arm. What it appears you have done is posed the figure then turned on IK and the hand is still set to it's default position and it jumped back there and since it is an impossible move the rest of the arm distorts. If you set the figure to default pose and then tried to move the hand to in front of the chest without changing the bend angles of the wrist you end up with weird angles. IK for the feet are easier since the foot almost always faces forward. The hand will change direction simply by moving it. IK for the arms is best used when the hands are constrained to another object, such as a steering wheel. That way the hands move a bit and the arms follow without as much distortion.
The question is why do you need to have IK on the hands on?
IF you are doing an animation and want to use IK for the hands it is best if you set the Keyframes to Linear as that will prevent overshoot that occurs when there are several keys and they are not symmetrical.
