right... lets see now.. arguements aside in statements by the companies..how many poly's shifted and how fast..how many megawosits we run at etc... it comes down the to following. Does it run OpenGL to an acceptable Standard? Is it within your budget? when boiled down to those important points, then either ATI or Nvidia will do, so look for what extras are being offered on the card in your budget range and what Ram size it's got ... trust me.. you won't, with the naked human eye, notice much of a dfference.

Veritas777, please calm down... okies.. yes some are using 95/98. ask yourself why ok? some it's hardware, (I keep a 98se machine for playing games on since my joystick / throttle are not supported in 2K or above - the company went bust), others it's software (not everything works on NT based code!), or it's just that they prefer it. does that make them stupid? nope.. where I work, there's a mix of Dos, (Production machines( Circuit printing and Database) where windows is a waste of time!), Win95, 98, 98se and XP. there a lot of company's here that run that kind of mix.. why? it's more efficent... btw... windows 98 was created in 98 and is still supported (web only) by Microsoft.. it's interesting to note, while 98 is still in the support (till the end of this year), ME was dumped a year ago ;)

calm down mate! - no point in getting mad, lifes to short ya know? well for the tearing, I've seen figures that render ok in Poser, but have probs in DS.. I think thats what he was refering to... for some reason, with some figures, say the shoulders will render fine in Poser, the same figure in the same pose, will have massive gaps in DS.. something for the programming team to fix methinks...

**PS the problem figures export from Poser into other Apps such as LW Maya and tS A-ok... so it is a bug in DS at this time..

Bill, there's an easy way to fix the bool prob of ts to poser... look for a toll called Compose... it runs as a Java app that can convert ts3 / 4 cobs to Obj... been testing in a coupla days now and it's very very good... not got the link handy tho :( sorry details from the 'about' Compose 1.1 by John R.
