The only one I've seen personally is for max. and it is a basic: use image as background, draw splines along lines for perimiter draw path spline loft. cut out windows and doors texture.

point to point is a nit pick detail for a lot of models. for models based on standard primative shapes ( square house etc. ) the point to point can give you extremely low poly models. here's a point to point modeller, for linux: http://wolfpack.twu.net/Vertex/index.html

Teyon is right. use the tool that is the most comfortable for your work habits. all 3 you name will do the job as well as any other. if you are going to be using one to render the scenes, it would probably be c4d, so it may be easier in the long run to make to building model in it. but that would be the only reason to recommend one over any other.

seems to have been caused by mods / admins moving a thread. just happened again, and it was when a mod moved a thread into here, and posted that she moved it. thread was originally in the html forum

" Small correction. MacOS is based on BSD not Linux." ahh, the lesser hardware support open source os. bsd has worse hardware support than linux. ( and the worst installer ) makes perfect sence, use the kernel with least hardware support to run your overpriced proprietary hardware.

since mac osx is based on a linux distro, your comment doesn't make any sence. mac osx is linux. just a corrupted version, removing the power of linux.

max is windows only, so don't bother with the mac option for using max. mac with intel isn't a big change actually, for apple. the os that osx is based on had coding for all architectures, they knew they would be switching so they left the coding in place. current osx will run on intel box, if it has a bios that macos will recognise. ( open firmware only )
Thread: how to do 3D cutaway? | Forum: 3D Modeling
for which app? the basics are simple enough, create a cutting object and cut your model with it as per the specific app. group the cut section ( for easy moving ) or, for impressive animation sequence, instead of moving the cut section, fade it to transparent. using the animation tools of your choice and setting keyframes which have the transparency settings ( or movement if going that route )
Thread: a "good" trojan virus? | Forum: Community Center
naw it's actually a rather innocuous verse. then your mouse gets locked into a "cell" and you have to reboot too get control back. keyboard not affected. ( saving of data possible ) no rewriting itself all over the system. delete the actual .dll and edit the registry to clean it. but harmelss fun, for a virus.

hey, I got tons of links to free linux apps, for all application types.
linuxlinks.com is a great resource though.
mobygames has a listing of mainstream games that run native in linux.
http://www.mobygames.com/browse/games/linux/
freshmeat and sourceforge are both chock full of the universe of software available for linux.
( not just the world of software for windows / mac )

not hardly: 2200+ graphics and miultimedia apps for linux. http://www.linuxlinks.com/Software/Graphics/ http://www.linuxlinks.com/Software/Multimedia/ most free, just like the os itself is. so go ahead, throw money down the drain sticking with a lower quality product. and lose system resources to services that aren't needed on a professional quality os.
