Also a long-term user. I like and use it so much I've even assigned an instant launch by hotkey using WinKey (another handy little free utility).

Thread: amazing | Forum: Vue
No more stupid than I did, Dolly. I bet we weren't the only ones pondering this, either. I did guess it right, but against my better judgement that kept telling me it wasn't that straightforward in Vue orientation terms!
Thread: New Site Layout | Forum: Vue
Sorry to be a dissenting voice, particularly when people have obviously put effort into revamping the look, I am in favour of the new menu system but I much prefer the old colour scheme. I have already used my member profile to revert to the previous foreground/background colours, but wish it were possible to revert the colours of the top/side bars form elements too.

Thanks Sacada - great tutorial; you make it all sound so simple - which I'm sure it's not to get the results you have achieved! ;-)
Thread: Vue Gallery Standards | Forum: Vue
Hi Diane I certainly do agree, as indeed I suspect do most on this forum. Coming here for the first time really opened my eyes to a world of creativity of which I simply had not realised Vue was capable. I still have much to learn and cannot pretend to approach the standards of such artists as Pmermino or Thomas Krahn, but it sure gives one's aspirations a boost! In spite of competition for my time from other demanding hobbies, it inspired me sufficiently to scrape into the bottom end of the Top 20 a couple of times. I'm sure you will find your own voyage of discovery equally rewarding and enjoyable. Bill
Thread: Notice to those who are illegally distributing Lyne's Creations models! | Forum: Vue
I am sorry, but sadly not surprised, to hear of your predicament, Lyne. I have to date relied on the free sharing paradigm, but if I wanted a particular commercially available model badly enough then I would most certainly pay for it, not use a rip-off copy. Unfortunately too many people seem to regard software and other copyrighted piracy as a victimless crime (indeed, probably not even as a crime at all), and the apparent anonymity of the net provides a cloak for such activity and a ready means of transmitting the contraband. I have no idea how this antisocial attitude could be changed. Would these same people decide they wanted but could not (or would not) afford a Mercedes be just as happy to steal one from a showroom forecourt in the same "no victim" manner? I hope not, though I suspect a small minority may. Why then is intellectual and artistic ownership not accorded the same respect?
My immediate reaction to the naming of one warez broker site was the same as a couple of ther respondents here. On reflection however, I doubt it much matters. I imagine for those inclined to investigate, it is a simple matter to discover such sites using nothing more sophisticated than a good search engine.
Thread: Just bought X-Frog | Forum: Vue
As someone else who has recently bought XFrog but not yet had time to "play" properly with it, I look forward to the start of a series of tutorials by your good self as your skills develop. If your Vue contributions are anything to go by, they should make profitable reading.
Thread: Create a city from a single terrain | Forum: Vue
Ingenius. Similar to but even simpler than the method using an import from ZBrush that I used in my "Reconaissance" image. Must give this a try.

Thread: VUE fonts ? | Forum: Vue
Several file freeware conversion programs can solve this problem for you, unless things have changed in the 18 months since I downloaded the apps. For instance you can load the DXF file from Elefont into Crossroads, export it back out as a DXF file then load this in Vue. This also works with Spiralizer from the same source as Elefont.
Thread: Co-operation Between Vue and Xfrog A Real Possibility! | Forum: Vue
I agree - great idea. As a recent purchaser of XFrog, I read with concern that version 4 will be released as a plug-in, as this seemed unlikely to be available for use inside Vue. I have not been able to discover whether there will also be a free-standing release of version 4. AThis announcement of a possible "export to Cue" format is encouraging. Any clarification of the relationship between the two applications in the future would be welcome. (I have tried posting this on the XFrog forum, but received no replies.)
