Quote - Does 6.3 render any quicker than 6.1?
Not on PowerMac with Leopard it doesn't ...
Thread: One year later: what I learned about Poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Still learning - and there's lots more to master.
But it keeps me happy and, I think, creative.

Render over background is checked - so it's the png format that's the problem. Strange.
Thanks.
Thread: Registration Content - problem | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Aha ...
Not just the wrong folder name! The props are assigned to the wrong (non-existent) "Refit" folder.
According to the list in the Read Me, for example, Sweater Red.ppz is in the P6 Clothing refits for Ryan. It's actually in the P6 Jessi WW Conversion for Alyson.
So that's sorted out - the props are in the WW folders and assigned to the right people.
It was confusing, though ...
Thanks for the help!

Yes, I've got those. Are the ones I mentioned not listed in your Read Me for installation?
They include (under Ryan/P6 Clothing Refits): Sweater Red.ppz, DressSuit.ppz, for example.
Thread: P8 jerky dials, anyone else experience this? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - IÂ experienced this in P7 as well, and it seemed to get worse as the scene got more complicated.
Same here; dials much smoother in P6 than in P7. I don't find the P8 dials quite as stiff as the P7.
(P7 running on Tiger, P8 on Leopard.)
Thread: OT: Married poser users. Does your spouse enjoy your art...? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
My wife doesn't take much interest in what I produce using Poser. She occasionally makes a comment if she's passing the room; she thinks the fairies are too "grown up" (she prefers the ones in the "Flower Fairy" books) but the robots are acceptable. I pointed out that if I made the fairies like the ones in the books then I'd be posting pictures of children - and that is rather dangerous ground nowadays.
She does, however, recognise the fact that it "keeps me out of mischief", though Lord knows what mischief I could get up to nowadays, aged 70!
Playing with dolls, eh? Well, I blame my sister; she used to get me to help her cut out the paper dolls and their dresses from the newspapers (just after the war).

Yes, and with no problems at all...Â
Actually I meant the Shaderworks one.
Thread: Hardware shading | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks.
Yes, I have a good card, the GeForce 6800 Ultra, and hardware shading enabled - I just wondered if it mattered. The CPUs can get quite hot while rendering.

Yes

I just tried loading Bong and I don't have that problem. Which OS are you using?
Leopard 10.5.8

Quote - but they need to make all the scroll bars larger and not have them shrink as they do in the Library when there are a lot of runtime folders or items.
It's quite hard to get the scroll bar at times, and I'm tending to set things up in Poser 7 and then transfer to Poser 8 to finish off (or add P8 items). I just hope they get SR1 out soon to make things easier!

P8 seems to make more demands on the processor(s). I can leave P7 rendering (on Tiger) and work in Photoshop, but when rendering in P8 (on Leopard) other applications including Photoshop are sluggish. Checked Activity Monitor and P8 grabs as much as it can.
