The DS verwsion tacks the Qt version, hence DS 6 since it is built using Qt 6.
It's true there are no blockbuster features, but there are some very nice things even so - two that strike me are:
- DS 6 can mix draw-styles, so you can have one item in wioreframe and another solid (use the Universal drawstyle, then you can override for individual objects) - very useful when posing, for example have a cup in wireframe and the figure in smooth shaded, as you adjust the fingers you will know they are just touching the cup when its edges start to disappear under the surface of the fingers.
- DS 6 lets you edit strand-based hair in the Viewport, so you can see the figure's pose and other scene elements (clothes, furniture, etc.) which makes it much easier to get the desired look.
Don't forget, too, that pretty well all the new features since DS 4.20 were DS 5/6 features that could be implemented in DS 4.
DS 6 may not offer anything to you yet, it depends on the features you need, but it is not at all accurate to say that the chat-bot is the only addition.
