I have been porting the same Poser installations from one device to another for over twenty years without any problems.  Every now and then, I've needed to reinstall something with missing bits or a bmp file that's spontaneously corrupted, things like that.  The Poser software itself has needed to be reinstalled now and then, usually for the registry.  But generally everything can be ported from one device to another safely.  All of my runtimes were even ported from Windows to Linux that way, with only the software itself requiring reinstallation for the new OS.

It's been safe for me, it has worked nicely, and cue a bunch of people hopping in to tell us I'm doing it the stupid way in 5, 4, 3....
