She's cute. I have several versions of dynamic hair shaders in the freebies you can use as a starting place for your shaders if you want. I also recommend making the tip and root widths thinner to avoid wiry hair. I use 0.1 and 0.2, respectively. Then I use more strands, usually 600 to 800. (I use inches if that changes those values. I don't remember if it does) 

Thanks for the pointers. I don't use dynamic hair much and never bothered with those parameters. I took a look at one of your shaders and tweaked some of the roughness settings on mine.
