This does not reference or explain the fact that this is a new policy as coupons previously were always good even at a high discount sale. So in effect, prices were raised. Usually winds up that people buy less.

The exclusion of coupons does not alter the underlying sale price; it simply prevents combining multiple discounts. The products in the Prime Time Unleashed promotion are already reduced by 65%, which represents a substantial markdown from their regular prices. Removing coupon eligibility does not increase those prices. Buyers are still paying significantly less than usual (35% of the actual price) and on products that are not in Prime and would not have been discounted that much in regular sales of 50%. Although getting an 80-85% discount does seem attractive, please also keep in mind that this is our vendors' livelihood and we feel further discounting devalues their work.
