Can you post more of a step by step on how to do all this? I've been trying and failing, so I think I'm missing something. 

I will work on putting together a how to based on what I do.  One of the biggest things to remember this is not like the old cloth room. The concept here is that the shape of the cloth is the starting point.  The dress above has built in peaks that are harder to flatten in Poser 14 then in Poser 13.  So you need to put in some constraint in order for the cloth to keep its basic shape but not so much as to make it rigid.
