Developer speaking here: each website has a dedicated database linked to it. Everything lies in tables. I know SQL, the most used language for databases, website-related included.
So: a dev can easily run an SQL query to set a specific flag for the said user within a range of dates in the DB.
The support should be able to do this: find someone that knows more or less the structure of the DB (hopefully...), detect the DB ID of the user, retrieve the dedicated tables, write the query: done in, let's say less than an hour.
I've been using this numerous times in the past, to help the ERP on which I've been working for 8-9 years.
