Texture Transformer V1.1.2.0 accepts a reentry of the registration license number, but Version 2.0.6.0 refuses to register.  I am not convinced that the Windows update has actually broken all of Blacksmith3d's software.  Did he pull the plug on all his products?

Blacksmith had a "phone home feature". I believe the server it tried to reach is no longer available. When my main computer started throwing this error a few days ago(on Windows 10 with no recent updates), I broke out my old laptop that hadn't been used in 2 years. When I tried to open Blacksmith, I got the message that it needed to periodically check in with a server and I should close the app, connect to the internet and then reopen". I did then connect to the internet and as soon as I opened Blacksmith, I got that error we've all been seeing on a very old version of Windows 10 with no updates..

That is the problem with the phone home feature: you pay good money for reliable software, and its accessibility is yanked from you when either the server is taken offline or the author decides to call it quits.  It's unfair to the user.
