Gill I've seen photos of Canal life in the UK, I think they were along the Thames somewhere, these are just like those Pics except they don't show how popular the Lifestyle is there looked like there was 100s of the Barges lined up on both sides.

They're probably like that around London  (Thames is a river, not a canal), but "up here" it's a bit quieter ;)   Here's a couple (not good quality) from our little bit of the Trent & Mersey (it's easy walking distance from home).  We do have narrowboats along there at times, but it's rarely packed to the rafters
