It would seem there is a massive undertaking to defund & destroy or at least severely legislate, regulate and otherwise cripple AI in favour of pure art by human artists. They have already overwhelmed Kickstarter and got it to pull the Unstable Diffusion campaign with, it is believed and most likely to be the case, their very skewed definition of copyright/all AI is theft screed.

Social media is full of these numbnut rantings and they are being believed. Do not be surprised if they start pressuring credit card companies and the luck to stop dealing with MidJourney and similar subscription services or even individual AI artists the way that so-called Moral Majority types got legal adult materials or anything that could be taken as NSFW banned from Visa et al. They have already boasted on Facebook and elsewhere that is their intent.
