I was trying to get a kraken to attack the ship from below, but it sort of became part of the ship and environment.  OK, that's cool too, i'll take it...

Moving some words around in The Wave, used 'kraken attacking an ancient sailing ship from the depths'.  Maybe 'from below' might work better...
