Makes sense. To be honest, I'm a bit embarrassed that I didn't realize that right away.
I have to say that not all transmapped react this way, but I don't have the technical knowledge to explain why. But 2, 3 years ago I stumbled upon a material setting involving the PoserSurface node, plus the correspnoding scatter and anisotropic nodes. And from time to time, I have to avoid the scatter node precisely. For now, I haven't been satisfied using Cycles and transmapped hairs.
