Does it take a while to render in octane?
Not at all: Octane is the very best way to benefit from nvidia's video cards...
All it takes, from Poser (and probably from D|S): the plugin convert the basic material into its own mat settings.
From there, you may buy awesome stuff such as RedSpecTGX' settings and adapt them to your character.
From time to time, I use another Third Party program: HighLight Studio, which is a gem for anything that concerns the way to lit a scene (not used in this scene).
As often, there's a learning path but once you're accustomed, it's fairly easy
