Well, I still need a new laptop with an updated OpenGL, but I just found a link to this video on YouTube, and thought folks might be interested in seeing it. I haven't watched it as yet.

Sounds like the official 2.8 non-beta release will be out soon.
Edited to Add: OK, just checked, and there's no specific tutorial info, this is just a guy talking about where 2.8 is, and where it's going as far as development.
