I would say yes you are doing something wrong. As you haven't said anything about how you set up either scene and you have no intention of using DS, posting this here seems like it's an app war post rather than seeking actual information. Please don't do that in this forum. And what you posted isn't a 30-60 second render, not with that hair. You know some of us used to render in Poser as well ;)
