...except of course that I haven'tanswered the original question,which was about the EXTERNAL name.
The presence/absence of an underscore in the INTERNAL name of the prop in the PP2 determines the format of the sequence of suffixes on the INTERNAL name:
No underscore: 1st=no suffix, 2nd = ' 1',3rd = ' 2', etc
Underscore: 1st = '_1', 2nd = '_2',3rd = '_3', etc
However, there doesn't appear to be any similar relationship for the EXTERNAL name...
The 3Dcheapskate (also available in DAZ and HiveWire3D flavours) occasionally posts sensible stuff. Usually by accident.
And it usually uses Poser 11, with units set to inches. Except when it's using Poser 6 or PP2014, or when its units are set to PNU.
