Subject: Why Does the External Name For A Prop SOMETIMES Have An '_1' Suffix

3DFineries - I'm interested that you mentioned "When saving out props", much as EldritchCellar mentioned "when saved to the library".

Are you sure it's the act of saving that causes the _1 to be added, or is the _1 there in the external/internal name of the prop in the scene before you save? (and note that, as mentioned earlier, the 'Internal Name' on the Parameters tab doesn't seem to show the full internal name, specifically not the :1 suffix if it exists - you need to use PoserPython to see that)

I think there's a logical pattern emerging, but it needs more examples and I'm not there yet...


The 3Dcheapskate (also available in DAZ and HiveWire3D flavours) occasionally posts sensible stuff. Usually by accident.
And it usually uses Poser 11, with units set to inches. Except when it's using Poser 6 or PP2014, or when its units are set to PNU.
