Well I think an Ipad without the Net or Apps is more like an Ibrick.

I have an Ipad2 I bought a few years ago on a whim. I never thought I would use it much. But I was wrong, I still use it every day, it's great for grabbing free wifi when you travel. I have plenty of Apps that fulfill very specific needs. I can use it for FPV with my drone. Sorting digital photos while I travel. Sure Apple may know a little bit more about me but nothing I wouldn't happily share anyways. Value for money wise it's been one of the best consumer electronic devices I have ever bought. Prolly not what you want to hear, but it's my honest opinion.
