I always liked Mike Rowe. He makes a lot of sense and is usually pretty comical. I appreciate his logic.

"We're lending money we don't have to kids who have no hope in ever paying it back, to train them for jobs that don't exist" - he hit the nail right on the head there. That's the American college system in a nutshell.

I thought he was being pretty square with his facts.  Then he goes on to the other good paying jobs that are open, but without qualified applicants to fill them.  There used to be a time when they had apprenticeships, which was a cost to the companies that offered them.  Even before I retired, it had been  some years since the company had started even one apprentice, their thought was they could hire journeymen and not have to train anyone.  Okay, that worked for a while, but with nobody training, there weren't new people with the skills.  And those with the skills became pretty expensive, as they became scarce, that should have been easy to foresee.  Some of those skills are now almost extinct, and if you find someone with them, you might think you're paying a lawyer if you need those skills.  So be it.  Stupidity is it's own reward.
