Fair enough. But aren't you in software dev, M_M?

I always sucked at math. Still do. So a 4.0 was not an option for me. I always aced most everything else and my focus was always in art.

It's also about where you live and what resources you have available to you. If you grow up in a small town and the only jobs around you are fast food or retail, there's not a lot of opportunity for internships and sharpening those instincts. And it's also about who you know a lot of the time. I avoided college for a while after high school - partly because I lived in an area that didn't have schools that offered anything I was interested in, and partly because I watched several of my friends go to college right out of high school, did their 4 years, and within 2 years after they were sick of it and not working in anything related to what they went to school for. I actually had to move out of state to go to school because there were no art schools in my area - and still aren't.

I'm not worried about the loans Pumeco. I used to, but now I pretty much have a 'screw it' approach to all of it. As long as I'm working for myself they can't garnish my wages. The government allowed tuition to reach astronomical proportions and did nothing to stop it, only encouraged it, and made it so that most people can't get by without it, so let them deal with the aftermath from it. And it's finally beginning to crumble. Several for-profit schools have had to file for bankruptcy recently - including several Art Institutes. A lot of students that went to those schools are now having their loans forgiven, and that will just create a domino effect. My loans don't prevent me from living decently and I can still buy what I want when I can afford it. Should the day ever come when I actually have the money to pay them back then I will, but only what I borrowed. I don't lose sleep over it.
