Tell me, what on earth did Shane need $130K for a student loan for? ... that's $130K FFS!
Better still, tell me why a person needs a student loan at all!
Depending on what degree you're after and which school, that could be much higher for a four year degree. One of the big name, ivy league schools, might run a quarter million before you're done, or more. It's not like it was "back when", or when I got out of high school. I know several of the kids in that class went to Santa Rosa JC, got their I think associate degrees and left with no debt by taking part time work. Not possible now. Colleges and universities aren't as they once were, education is now secondary to the profit motive. State owned colleges are facing severe cuts in some certain states which will more than likely result in closing some campuses. Just one more place that corporate money is making things so expensive only the wealthy will be able to afford it. We have an experiment in privatized schools in Milwaukee, full blown corporate take over, with full blown results, lower test scores for those schools than for the public system. And I have to go finish mowing the lawn before the house can't be seen through the weeds.
