Pumeco, I've had a couple of jobs that weren't considered safe. Fighting forest fires, not what you want to do for three days without stopping, but I did it. The pay sucked big. Aircraft fueling crew on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier, life expectancy for insurance purpose, thirty seconds. Jets, one end bites, the other end kicks. Night ops, you can't see a spinning prop, but that doesn't mean you're not going to be pumping fuel into it anyhow. You also can't see the exhaust of a jet, day or night, but it's going to be there and if you get caught in it, you're going to be overboard. Walk too close to the intake of a running jet, you're going to go in. Additional pay, $50 per month more than someone cleaning compartments below deck. Service in a combat zone, another $50 per month. See how far that goes to paying off any kind of debt. OH, yeah, I almost forgot. You'd also be wearing the ear protectors, so you can't hear anything either. Lovely place.
