Quote - SBT.. i love ati vid cards.  I've got a relatively small one in this box.. and HD7750; but, I've got my eye on either one or two crossfired firepro cards.  Odd thing is, on my old box, I used gpu rendering all the time; since I rebuilt this last october, I've rarely used gpu rendering at all.  My entire D|S/Poser/Reality/Luxrender learning curve has stalled out the last few months.  The demands on my imagination in school are just so high that I don't have a lot left for rendering other than the infrequent "nekkid chick with background" render and those are getting a tad boring

I was reading a lot about Lux regarding the upcoming SLG4 and it seems to highly favor Radeon's parallel processing methods in spades. Pitting the two top cards, ATi vs nvid, the ATI card hammered the nvid by 4000% on Luxmark! Four THOUSAND!! That had my immediate attention. The nvid's still seem better for actual gaming, but ATI's tech is a realized dream  for useful processing and high demand calculations (like, say, rendering. Bwa haa haa haa!).
