Quote - Decided to try my hand at a bit of basic modeling in preparation of my upcoming solidwords and unigraphics classes.  Did this wine glass in Hexagon(i know i know.. but it's easy).  Still trying to get a grasp on making my materials list look like the ones in other props I see but I still have one phantom material listing that isn't in the wine glass.  In reality, gave the base a low gloss chrome material, a higher gloss gold for the stem and hyper-realistic glass for the bowl.  No complex lighting or scenery.  Just sat it on a plane with an ibl for lighting so I could get some uber fast render times.  Next up for me to try is a beer stein w/my family crest on it.  Still need to learn how to UV map an object in Hex.  And work on w/e it is that's screwing with my material listing.  Other than that, I'm pretty happy with it as it's the first thing I've ever modeled in Hex.

Only let it render to about 1100 passes.  I was looking more for the quality of the shape of the glass; not the look of the materials on it.  We all know what Reality and Lux can do the look of anything.

You are getting the hang of this modelling lark John! Very nice mate.
