@SaintFox:

Part of the problem may be that I asked David to do the remap on the low-res version of Antonia, which means less fine control on the details of the mapping. I think the low-res figure can be very useful for mass scenes or background figure, so I'd like as much support for it as possible. It may be that a little bit of fine-tuning on the high-res version of the mapping could fix those seams, but right now I'm not sure I'd want to invest the time to do it. If David were interested in having another look, that would of course be welcome, but I for one am more than grateful for the work he's already done.

In my personal opinion, the one-size-fits-all approach to UV mapping and texturing is a bit like me wearing someone else's hand-tailored suit. It may work reasonably well if we have similar sizes and body types, but it'll never fit me like the person it was made for. To me, the remap is a convenient way of re-using old textures one may have lying around or that are on sale right now because V3 is "going out of style". But I wouldn't expect it to be perfect. For high-quality close-up renders, I'd still prefer using a texture that was made especially for this figure.

I'd even go further and say - and I know I've said it before, somewhere in the depths of this thread - that a single UV mapping per figure does not necessarily fit all purposes. That's why Antonia comes with two, and I've welcomed David's efforts to add a V3-compatible map. I say the more the merrier. If it were easy in Poser to hot-plug a new UV mapping into a figure in the current scene, I wouldn't even think twice about multiple mappings.
