Green - in all further images - cloth at extreme parameter settings, showing artifacts at the edges. Yellow - a copy with adjusted parameters.

while this is the 0.7 situation, the front edge is about flat during the entire fall (Yellow) while this also is the case for the back end at density = 1 (Green, not that visible).
