Current results.  Eyebrows are better, and forehead.  Nostrils and ears aren't so good, but they aren't any better with the closest vertices.  These areas are not well surface-matched in the test comparison, which is part of why I'm using this comparison.  The fact that the raycasting step handles these areas as well as it does is a point in its favor.  :woot:

But look at the area above the eyelid, and the lacrimal.  These are worse here than in closest vertices.  The lacrimals explode in almost any comparison using pure raycasting, which comes down to the reliance on their normals.

I'll leave it alone for a bit, now.  :lol:  Looking very good!
