Because to some people even $100 is better than $0. Some of us don't work, either by choice or by circumstance. Even a little bit helps.

Though not a vendor I lost my real world job as a production artist over 2 years ago and have been out of work since. Through the Council for the Aging I got a part time job working for a county library 4 hours a day, 20 hours a week every week at $6.25 per hour which just got raised to $7.25 and as much as I feel horrible humbled taking it it has helped considerably as opposed to getting NOTHING for this long. The environment is quiet and peaceful and clean and cool during the summer I don't have to deal with pissed off customers like I did in Retail hell and everyone there really appreciates the help I bring to their grossly understaffed full time facilitators.

So if these vendors do make even that $100 doing this on the side without punching a clock or be beholding to anyone else once the work is done and up for sale power to them. They can use the time free to pursue other venues. Every bit helps in this economy or any economy when it comes to governing your leif as best as you can.
