I asked a similar question a few days ago as my broadband connection sucks (result of old copper wiring from exchange, not ISP). When I got Poser 6 (owned by curious labs then I think) they had a distribution site in Ireland. At the time everyone was joking that we were getting them a few weeks later because the Leprechauns had to bring them over by row boat. This meant that the shipping costs were lower, and I didn't have to pay import tax either. It looks as though Smith Micro does not have a similar structure in place. May have to download it instead. Not ideal.
Used to like the good old days wher you could go into PC World and buy your software upgrades in there (not Poser). Now everyone expects you to buy directly from them either via download or physical shipment.
I stopped buying upgrades for my Ulead software because I ordered a physical upgrade through their British online store, but for some reason it was shipped from Germany. By the time I had payed for shipping and import tax I would have been as well to buy the full version from PC World down the road!
In Britain we have: people who want broadband but can't get it, people who have it but cannot get decent speeds because of outdated phone lines/ exchanges etc and those who can get fast broadband but never use the internet or computers and don't understand why Gordon Brown wants tax payers to pay for improved lines.
