My environment sphere is self-lit, using a photo to determine the color of every pixel. Therefore, it lights the scene, as long as something doesn't get in the way.

A rectangle with an "Exit" sign in ambient red also lights the scene. Nothing special about it.

No disrespect to you BB but that sounds pretty damn special to me. :D
