There seems to be a lot of fear about minimum system requirements.

My experience is that Poser 8 uses about the same resources as Poser 7 or Pro. Posing works the same or better. The pose window displays lighting and shaders more accurately, but doesn't seem any slower. General UI clickery and screen refresh of components is no problem. The Library is way faster to load up and navigate. Everything else feels about the same.

I'd say that whatever you have now, if it works it won't be any different.

I don't think I've mentioned this, but there are low-poly versions of Ryan and Alyson.

I agree the posted system requirements are minimums, and they say so. That's what "requirements" are - what you must have. As in, you can probably pose and render a low-poly figure and a few props, but don't expect to load a million polygons with only 512 Meg of RAM. Whatever you think is right for Poser 7 or Pro is right for Poser 8.

But ... Poser 7 and Poser Pro can't touch Poser 8 when using a state of the art machine.

My laptop is Core 2 T7600 @ 2.33 Ghz, 2 GB RAM. I have no problems.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
