Love the leg band ideas. Maybe adding straps connecting the leg bands to the waist like stocking suspenders and adding a sheath or utility pouch or both onto the thigh bands would be sweet. Actually it would need to be something like that because from designing and trying to create fantasy outfits when I was a photographer, thigh bands that high up do not stay up unaided!  :(
So the suspender straps would look cool, more finished and practical too!

The scifi top/vest you added is nice too.
