Believable3D: Your mesh had a welding accident. Either UVMapper or Argile tried to be clever and turned some pairs of distinct vertices that happened to be at the same position into just one vertex. In other words, the topology got messed up. Look at your options and see if you can tell your programs not to weld things together.
