Illustration 5 - Was this a property of the UVMap itself or a property of the Projection?  After all, how much does it matter?  Is the choice of Projection simply a matter of convenience for the person mapping the object?  So, I wanted to see how much Poser cared about the UVMap.  Which was more important in regards to these artifacts -  Was it a nice UVMap or was the Projection more important?  So, I murdered a Flat Projection UVMap and turned it into spaghetti.  Still, the object rendered without artifacts.  Poser cared more about the Projection method used than it did about the condition of the UVMap in regards to these artifacts.

Cylinder 9) Remapped - Flat Projection, z-axis, bad quality UVMap

Illustration 6 - So, how do the results compare on this specific object?  Remapping the cylinder to a Flat Projection fixed the artifacts apparently caused by previous bad normals and improper UVMapping.

Cylinder 2) UVMap is the Original map supplied (Box projection/y-axis I "think")
Cylinder 10) Remapped Original, Flat Projection, z-axis (IT'S FIXED!)
