I have never had the first problem, but as for the loading Poser content problem, the only time I have had this problem is when the imported content has a camera1 and light one attached.  Usually just deleting the annoying duplicate camera 1 and light 1 solves the problem.  If you don't have the duplicates, then I can't think of anything else, sorry.
