My opinion that in rendering that Carrara wins no contest.  The lighting is so much better also plus the ability to have a light just target a figure.  I only light in Carrara and the native importer works like a charm.

I have tried rendering in other more expensive apps and seriously they look pretty much like the Carrara render.

I got Carrara and took Marks course and never looked back.
