Most of the landscape scenes are set to Large in the scale settings. That means that the working box in the Assembly Room is 3,000x3,000 feet and your poser character is only 5-6 feet tall. They're probably under your landscape. 

Try selecting your character in the Properties Panel and then push the number zero on your key pad. That will zoom your camera right to the character
