Not sure if it helps Tom, but, my Canon MP960 has some slide holders for scanning negatives with. I've tried it a few times and was really impressed with the results, but, alas, the images were taken by my mother using a disposable camera, really crappy work. I imagine it would be much better with quality work like yours.
