just be sure it's less than 28 kb, 100X130. use carrara or cs3. restrict to web-safe colours for smaller file. no dithering. I can only advise for OS X. empty cache after uploading it in yer forum options, as there are quite a few problems with their php software, hence it may appear to be rejecting it, when instead it's actually accepting it.
