Try decreasing the "Shadow Min Bias" value on your light properties. The default is .8 inches which means it ignores things less than .8 inches from the thing causing the shadow. This is also why we get nostril glow on figures.
.02 is a much better value for Depth Mapped Shadows.
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
